Since 2012 Nadette de Visser's work is regularly published by the Daily Beast. As a contributor, writer, and editor, her work has been published in: Newsweek, Time Out Amsterdam, Het Parool, de Volkskrant, Bright Magazine, Vara tv Magazine, de Groene, Print Magazine, Blueprint, and many other publications. As an investigative journalist Nadette de Visser researched the circumstances surrounding the death of three journalists for Reporters Without Borders in the Palestinian Territories. She worked on several copywriting assignments for Lemon Scented Tea and wrote about advertising for Adformatie and NieuwsTribune. Nadette de Visser also collaborated on different catalogues and other publications for and about art projects.
Nadette de Visser wrote the book Jerusalem/Al Quds, published in the 'From Our Correspondent' series by the Royal Tropical Institute KIT Publishers in Amsterdam (2008 ISBN: 978.90.6832.599.7). It is a personal account of living and working in a conflict zone, on both the Palestinian, as well as the Israeli side.
Through the Building Bridges Foundation art projects are initiated and catalogues are published.
Objects in Conflict is a exhibition catalogue in which the biographic story is embodied in objects that are directly related to the Israeli Palestinian conflict. In this catalogue the tragic personal accounts of individual people is told in English, Dutch, Hebrew and Arabic. With photographs by Pulitzer Prize winning photographer Oded Balilty.
The Dutch project Werelddorp Westerpark is caught in a catalogue featuring photographs by people of all ages. They were taught to make their personal lives and perspectives visible through the prism of the camera lens. These people from the urban Amsterdam neighbourhood Westerpark traded in their time for free photography classes and the use of a camera with surprising results. For further info see: BOOKS.
Nadette de Visser was born in 1970 in Heemstede and spent the early years of her life in Brussels. In Amsterdam she completed her masters in History of Art and Cultural Studies at the University of Amsterdam. In 2008 she added modules in Peace Education at Columbia University and International Humanitarian Law at Harvard University.
Nadette de Visser schreef het boek Jerusalem/Al Quds, uitgegeven in de serie ‘Van onze correspondent’ door Kit Publishers (2008) over haar ervaringen als journalist aan beide zijden van het Israelisch-Palestijnse conflict. Ze initieerde verschillende projecten waaronder de reizende tentoonstelling met catalogus Objects in Conflict, waarin het biografische verhaal in de context van oorlog (Israelisch-Palestijnse conflict) centraal staat, en gekoppeld is aan voorwerpen.
In het project Werelddorp Westerpark (2009) zette ze een grootstedelijk buurtproject neer waarin mensen hun biografische omgeving d.m.v. fotografe en in woord gevat hebben.Vanaf de jaren ’90 werkt ze als journalist. Sinds 2010 publiceert Nadette de Visser voornamelijk in de Amerikaanse de Daily Beast, waar ze sinds 2013 vaste medewerker is. Als medewerker en redacteur publiceerde ze in de loop der jaren o.a. in: Time Out Amsterdam, Het Parool, de Volkskrant, Bright Magazine, Vara tv Magazine, de Groene, Print Magazine, Blueprint en Reporters Without Borders.
Nadette de Visser werd geboren in 1970 in Heemstede en bracht haar jonge jaren in Brussel door. In Amsterdam ronde ze een studie Kunstgeschiedenis/Culturele Studies af aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam. In 2008 voltooide ze modules Peace Education aan Columbia University en International Humanitarian Law aan Harvard University.
